Named after the tallest mountain in Kananaskis, Galatea was formed to help producers better manage waste and fluid logistics.

Chad Hayden
(CEO)
Chad has a background in engineering, working in the field and office across North America. Prior to GT Chad was the Sales Manager for Newalta, one of Canada’s largest waste disposal companies, as well as working for an oilfield trucking company. Chad holds a Petroleum Engineering Diploma from SAIT (Southern Alberta Inst. of Technology).
Cara
Haberstock
(COO)
Cara has over 17 years of experience directly in oil and gas. She has played a foundational role in the startup of companies including, Pacesetter Directional, Performance Drilling, Veracity Energy Services and Verdazo Analytics. Cara has also worked as a Production Technologist at Barrick Energy and CNRL. Cara spent the last 8 years scaling Verdazo, an oil and gas data analytics company, before its eventual sale to Pason in 2019. Cara holds both Marketing, Finance and Petroleum Engineering Diplomas from SAIT.

Logan
Rob is an insightful, strong and constructive leader with the proven drive and skills to build innovative businesses, attract and mentor high-performance teams, and respectfully steward capital - thereby creating significant shareholder value. Rob is a current board member of ATB Financial, prior to ATB Rob served as the CEO of Osperity an energy focused computer vision company.
Mike
Backus
Mike has spent the last 25 years working in the oil and gas sector. His most recent position was VP Operations and Development at Painted Pony before it’s sale to CNRL in 2020. Prior to Painted Pony Mike was the VP of Canadian Operations for Nexen CNOOC expanding his role from Drilling Engineer, through to Treasurer then VP of UK Operations before assuming a leadership position in Canada. Mike also advises energy focused technology companies including Allionyx Energy Systems.
Janet
Bannister
Janet is a founder at heart. Her career has taken her to Silicon Valley with eBay then back to Canada where she launched Kijiji, one of Canada’s most visited websites. In 2023 Janet launched Staircase Ventures, an early-stage VC fund supporting B2B software companies in Canada. Janet believes that founders are the bedrock upon which great companies are built and by changing how we work with and treat founders, we can dramatically change the trajectory of their businesses.

da Silva Aboo
Isaac represents NGIF Capital. NGIF (the Natural Gas Innovation Fund) is a Canadian venture capital firm offering grant and equity financing for startups that deliver solutions to the environmental and other challenges facing the natural gas sector. NGIF is unique in how they bring Canada’s energy industry leadership to every investment, accelerating the validation, demonstration, and customer creation of our startup portfolio. Before joining NGIF Capital, Isaac was a corporate lawyer at Osler, representing emerging and high growth companies. My practice focused on general corporate counseling, venture capital financings, and mergers and acquisitions. I represented various technology companies throughout their lifecycle, from incorporation to exit, as well as several leading venture capital and private equity firms.
